Greek Life at UMD

Greek Life Chapters

Greek-lettered organizations, starting out as honors societies, have been a part of UMD's history since 1933 (before UMD was even UMD). The first social Greek-lettered organization came to campus in 1950. Greek Life is now home to around 200 members and 9 organizations. As well as two governing councils.

Our mission is to form an inclusive group of dynamic leaders who excel academically and professionally in everyday life, through a positive work ethic, community service, and academic drive. Membership in one of our organizations elevates the college experience. Joining a fraternity or sorority isn't like joining another student organization on campus, but will provide students the opportunity to make long-lasting connections (some of those connections may even be with alumni), philanthropy and community service projects, social events, leadership opportunities and so much more.

Join the brotherhood/sisterhood. Find your forever home, and learn how traditions can grow.
