Bulldog Beginnings Volunteer Opportunities for Faculty and Staff
At UMD, we value the contributions faculty and staff make to our students. Your service and support helps make UMD one of the finest institutions in Minnesota. Continue making a lasting contribution to our students by volunteering with Bulldog Beginnings Programs, such as Bulldog Welcome Week and Welcome Back Week. Many opportunities are available that allow you to meet new students, promote your department or services, or just allow you to be actively involved in a tradition that is uniquely UMD.
Volunteer registration will be posted here when it has opened. See below for descriptions of ways to be involved during Bulldog Beginnings events.
Welcome Tunnel for Chancellor's Welcome: Thursday, August 26
2:00-2:30 p.m. @ Malosky Stadium
Help welcome incoming students to the Chancellor’s Welcome. Faculty and staff will form a tunnel to cheer students on as they enter the stadium
UMD Guides: Monday, August 30 - Friday, September 3
7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
UMD Guides will be stationed throughout campus to provide a warm and welcoming face for students to ask questions and get help with wayfinding. We look to our campus partners and returning students to join us in welcoming our newest Bulldogs during their first days on campus. Shifts range from 1 to 1.5 hours and you will be provided with a free UMD Guides t-shirt.
