Sorority Recruitment

PANHELLENIC SORORITY RECRUITMENT

Panhellenic Primary Recruitment is a semi-formal process for Potential New Members (that's you) to meet each of our social sororities on campus. Through scheduled events Potential New Members will go to an orientation night and learn all about the recruitment process, get to attend lots of fun events, and get to have individual conversations with chapter members about the chapter and about yourself.

Read the FIRST edition of our newsletter, the Panhellenic Press  This edition is all about Recruitment so check it out if you have questions or concerns about signing up for Primary Recruitment!

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN

Sorority Provides Community
Finding a community at college matters a lot – perhaps more than ever. Sorority can provide that sense of belonging in a new place. It’s about laughter, lifelong friendships and a family that has your back no matter what.

Sorority is Accessible
Sorority life welcomes women based on what they want to contribute to the world around them. Your values, what you stand for and what you want to do in life matters far more than where you come from or your socioeconomic status.

Sorority Lets You Make a Difference in the Lives of Others
Being in a sorority is an invitation to help be an agent of change – in your community and in yourself. It’s an opportunity to embrace perspectives and experiences different from your own, while making an impact on campus and developing the leadership skills that can help you change the world – or at least your piece of it.

Sorority is Worth It
Joining a sorority also pays off where it counts – with your future and your career. Sorority sisters not only provide a network you can draw from for internships and jobs, but they also can help push you out of you comfort zone and encourage you to take advantage of opportunities you might never have considered without their support.

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) has 26 NPC member organizations with nearly 400,000 undergraduate members across the U.S. and Canada.

  • More than 580 campuses have a chartered College Panhellenic Association (Panhellenic Council) and nearly 670 campuses have at least one established NPC sorority chapter (Alpha Sigma Tau and Phi Sigma Sigma).
  • On many campuses, the College Panhellenic is the largest student organization representing women and women’s issues.
  • More than $4.6 million in scholarships were awarded to sorority members in 2018-19 (16 member organizations reporting).
  • In 2018-19, collegiate and alumnae members together donated more than $17 million for inter/national philanthropy activity (13 member organizations reporting) and volunteered nearly 1.9 million hours for inter/national volunteer activities (14 member organizations reporting).
